Description

Sticky Garlic Chicken Noodles is a quick and flavorful Asian-inspired dish featuring tender chicken, chewy noodles, and a rich, garlicky soy-honey sauce perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Noodles and Garnish

  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes to make the sauce.
  2. Coat the chicken: Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Cook chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Brown chicken: Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  5. Simmer with sauce: Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat. Let it simmer and thicken for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Cook noodles: Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with a little oil if desired.
  7. Combine noodles and chicken: Add noodles to the skillet and toss to combine with the chicken and sauce.
  8. Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Use tofu or vegetables like bell peppers and broccoli for a vegetarian version.
  • Add peanut butter for a nutty flavor.
  • Try udon, soba, or spaghetti noodles based on what you have.
  • Toss cooked noodles with oil to prevent sticking.
  • To thicken sauce more, simmer longer or add extra cornstarch slurry.
