Description

Golden and crispy bread samosas filled with a spicy cheese mixture, coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried for a crunchy, melty treat — perfect as a snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Units Scale
    • For the Filling:
    • 1 cup grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
    • 1 small green chili, finely chopped
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
    • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • Salt to taste

  • For the Samosas:
  • 6 slices white bread (crusts removed)
  • 1/4 cup milk or water (for sealing edges)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour + 1/4 cup water (to make a sealing paste)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cheese, green chili, coriander, chili flakes, pepper, and salt. Set aside.
  2. Flatten bread slices with a rolling pin. Cut each into triangles.
  3. Place a small amount of filling in the center of each triangle.
  4. Fold and seal the edges using the flour-water paste. Shape into neat samosas.
  5. Dip each samosa lightly in milk or water, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry samosas in batches until golden and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.

Notes

  • Use stale bread for easier rolling and shaping.
  • You can bake or air-fry the samosas for a healthier version.
  • Experiment with the filling by adding corn, paneer, or mashed potatoes.
  • Freeze shaped samosas before frying for make-ahead snacks.
