- For the Filling:
- 1 cup grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 small green chili, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- For the Samosas:
- 6 slices white bread (crusts removed)
- 1/4 cup milk or water (for sealing edges)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour + 1/4 cup water (to make a sealing paste)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cheese, green chili, coriander, chili flakes, pepper, and salt. Set aside.
- Flatten bread slices with a rolling pin. Cut each into triangles.
- Place a small amount of filling in the center of each triangle.
- Fold and seal the edges using the flour-water paste. Shape into neat samosas.
- Dip each samosa lightly in milk or water, then coat in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry samosas in batches until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
Notes
- Use stale bread for easier rolling and shaping.
- You can bake or air-fry the samosas for a healthier version.
- Experiment with the filling by adding corn, paneer, or mashed potatoes.
- Freeze shaped samosas before frying for make-ahead snacks.
