Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz goat cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup blackberry jam or preserves
- 8–10 fresh blackberries
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 8–10 squares. Score a border about 1/2 inch inside each square to allow edges to puff.
- In a small bowl, mix goat cheese, cream cheese, and honey until smooth.
- Spread a spoonful of cheese mixture inside the scored border of each pastry square.
- Add a dollop of blackberry jam and gently press a fresh blackberry into each tart.
- Brush edges with egg wash and sprinkle with chopped nuts if using.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh thyme leaves. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Cream cheese adds extra creaminess but can be omitted for a tangier filling.
- These tarts can be made ahead and served at room temperature.
- Try using raspberry or fig preserves as an alternative.
