Description

Delicious and easy-to-make stuffed cheese bread bites featuring gooey mozzarella encased in soft biscuit dough, brushed with a flavorful garlic and Italian seasoning butter glaze. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or party treat, these golden-baked cheese breads are quick to prepare and bursting with cheesy goodness.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Cheese Bites

  • 1 tube biscuit dough
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into eight 1-inch square cubes (cheddar cheese or diced string cheese may be substituted)

Butter Mixture

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with a Silpat or aluminum foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray; set aside to use for baking the stuffed biscuits.
  2. Prepare Cheese Bites: Separate the biscuit dough into individual pieces. Take one cheese cube and place it in the center of each biscuit piece. Wrap the dough completely around the cheese cube and seal the edges tightly. Place the sealed biscuit seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process until all cheese and dough are used.
  3. Bake Biscuits: Bake the stuffed biscuits in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until they turn very lightly golden brown. Keep a close eye on them during the last few minutes to prevent over-browning or burning, as they can quickly go from perfectly baked to overdone.
  4. Melt Butter: While the biscuits are baking, place the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl and heat on high power for 30 to 60 seconds, just until melted.
  5. Mix Seasoning: To the melted butter, add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Stir thoroughly to combine all the flavors into a well-blended butter mixture.
  6. Brush Biscuits: As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, generously brush each one with the prepared butter mixture. If desired, sprinkle finely chopped fresh parsley over the top for an added fresh touch and color.
  7. Serve: Serve the stuffed cheese breads immediately while warm and fresh for the best gooey cheesy experience.

Notes

  • Use any cheese that melts well, such as cheddar or string cheese cubes, as alternatives to mozzarella.
  • Watch baking time carefully to avoid over-browning, especially during the last couple of minutes.
  • You can prepare the butter seasoning ahead of time and store it in the fridge, warming it before use.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • These stuffed cheese breads are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated briefly in the oven for warmth.
