Description

These elegant and refreshing appetizers feature crisp cucumber rounds topped with herbed cream cheese, delicate smoked salmon, and briny capers. Perfect for brunches, cocktail parties, or as a light and flavorful starter.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 large English cucumber, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp capers, drained
  • Fresh dill sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread or pipe about a teaspoon of the herbed cream cheese mixture onto each cucumber slice.
  3. Top each with a folded piece of smoked salmon.
  4. Add 2–3 capers on top of the salmon for a briny pop.
  5. Garnish the serving platter with fresh dill sprigs for a beautiful presentation.
  6. Serve chilled and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use a piping bag for a cleaner and more elegant presentation of the cream cheese.
  • Prepare just before serving to maintain the crispness of the cucumber.
  • Can substitute cream cheese with a dairy-free alternative for a lactose-free version.
