Scale
- 3 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment or lightly grease.
- Cut pears in half and scoop out the seeds and a bit of the center to create space for filling.
- Arrange the pear halves cut side up in the baking dish. Brush with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Fill each pear with crumbled blue cheese and chopped walnuts. Sprinkle with thyme and chili flakes if using.
- Roast in the oven for 20–25 minutes, or until pears are tender and cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with honey.
- Serve warm as an appetizer, salad topping, or a sophisticated dessert.
Notes
- Use firm pears like Bosc or Anjou for best texture during roasting.
- Substitute goat cheese if you prefer a milder flavor than blue cheese.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze instead of honey for a deeper tangy-sweet note.
