- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to form dough balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are just set.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overbake—cookies will continue to set as they cool.
- For extra flavor, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.
