Ingredients

Units Scale

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 2 lbs. organic chicken breasts
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsps On Everything All-Purpose Blend
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 6 Tbsps unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup organic raw honey
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep + Season Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned and rinsed chicken breasts with olive oil, sea salt, On Everything All-Purpose Blend, and smoked paprika. Mix thoroughly so each piece is fully coated with the seasoning.
  2. Score the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts on a cutting board and make small, slit-like cuts about 1-inch apart across the surface of each breast, helping the flavors seep in during cooking.
  3. Marinate: For best flavor, transfer the coated chicken to a sealed ziplock bag and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or preferably overnight. Before cooking, allow the chicken to rest at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Make the Hot Honey Sauce: In a medium 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in honey, cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of sea salt. Cook and stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  5. Preheat and Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Alternatively, you may use a skillet for cooking.
  6. Arrange and Sauce Chicken: Place the chicken breasts side by side on the prepared baking sheet with space between each. Spoon half of the hot honey sauce over each piece of chicken, reserving the rest for later.
  7. Bake: Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the exterior is golden brown and crispy and the meat is thoroughly cooked through.
  8. Finish and Serve: Remove chicken from oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the remaining hot honey sauce over the chicken and serve with your favorite sides such as salad, pasta, or rice.
  9. Enjoy: Bon Appetit!

Notes

  • Scoring the chicken breasts helps the marinade and sauce penetrate deeper for more flavor.
  • Marinating overnight will intensify the taste and improve tenderness.
  • The hot honey sauce can be adjusted to your preferred spice level by modifying the amount of cayenne and red pepper flakes.
  • Leftover hot honey sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
  • Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
