Description

Elegant and effortless, these fresh figs are filled with whipped goat cheese, topped with crunchy pistachios, a drizzle of honey, and garnished with fresh thyme. A refined appetizer or light dessert that highlights the natural sweetness of ripe figs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe fresh figs
  • 1/3 cup goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (optional, for a creamier whip)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whip together goat cheese, cream cheese (if using), honey, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy. Set aside.
  2. Gently wash figs and pat dry. Make an “X” cut at the top of each fig, slicing about halfway down, without cutting all the way through.
  3. Gently open the figs slightly and place them on a serving plate.
  4. Spoon or pipe the whipped goat cheese mixture into the center of each fig.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pistachios over the top and drizzle generously with extra honey.
  6. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs.
  7. Serve immediately as an elegant appetizer, cheese board addition, or light dessert.

Notes

  • Use mascarpone or ricotta instead of goat cheese for a milder flavor.
  • Best served fresh; avoid refrigerating assembled figs for long to maintain texture.
  • Pairs well with a crisp white wine or sparkling rosé.
