Ingredients
Scale
Roll Ups
- 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef (deli style or leftover)
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Au Jus
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Assemble Roll Ups: Lay the flour tortillas flat on your work surface, then neatly layer the thinly sliced roast beef and shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese down the center of each tortilla.
- Roll Tortillas: Carefully roll each tortilla tightly around the filling, making sure to tuck in the ends, and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet to keep them sealed.
- Season and Butter: Brush the tops of the rolled tortillas with melted butter. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to add flavor and aroma.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the tortillas turn golden brown and the cheese has melted beautifully inside.
- Prepare Au Jus: While the roll ups bake, make the au jus dipping sauce by combining beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer gently for 5 to 7 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Serve: Remove the roll ups from the oven, slice them into bite-sized pieces if desired, and serve warm alongside the hot au jus sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Use thinly sliced roast beef for easy rolling and a tender bite.
- You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or any mild melting cheese.
- Adjust seasoning on the au jus to taste, adding more soy or Worcestershire sauce if preferred.
- For a crispier exterior, brush a little extra butter halfway through the bake time.
- Leftover roll ups can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil to maintain softness.
