Description

These French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, featuring thinly sliced roast beef and melted cheese rolled in flour tortillas, baked to golden perfection and served with a savory au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Roll Ups

  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for roll ups)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (for roll ups)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Au Jus

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for au jus)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (for au jus)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble roll ups: Lay tortillas flat; fill each with sliced roast beef and cheese down the center.
  3. Roll tortillas: Roll tightly and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  4. Prepare for baking: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Make au jus: Meanwhile, prepare the au jus by simmering broth with Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Serve: Slice roll-ups into bite-sized pieces and serve warm with au jus.

Notes

  • You can use mozzarella or provolone cheese depending on your preference.
  • Ensure the roll-ups are placed seam-side down to keep them intact during baking.
  • Adjust seasoning in the au jus to taste.
