Description

This Easy No Boil Lasagna recipe simplifies the traditional preparation by eliminating the need to boil noodles. Layers of seasoned ground beef, Italian sausage, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and jarred spaghetti sauce come together to create a hearty and comforting Italian classic perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Sauce

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 4 cups jarred spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Other

  • 9 lasagna noodles (no boil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the proper temperature for even baking.
  2. Cook Meat Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage until they are no longer pink. Drain any excess fat to prevent greasiness.
  3. Prepare Baking Dish: Spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce on the bottom of a baking dish to prevent the noodles from sticking and provide flavor.
  4. First Layer: Arrange 3 no-boil lasagna noodles over the sauce evenly, then add half of the ricotta cheese, half of the browned meat mixture, and a third of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Second Layer: Repeat the layering process by spreading more sauce, placing the next set of noodles, adding the remaining ricotta cheese, remaining meat mixture, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Final Layer: Add the last layer of noodles on top, cover them with the remaining sauce, and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the dish.
  7. Bake Covered: Cover the dish with foil to keep moisture in and bake for 25 minutes, allowing the ingredients to meld and the noodles to cook through.
  8. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown for a perfect finish.
  9. Rest Before Serving: Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes after baking to help it set, making it easier to slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality jarred spaghetti sauce for the best flavor and depth in your lasagna.
  • This recipe is customizable—add your favorite vegetables such as spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra nutrition and flavor.
  • Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps prevent it from falling apart.
  • For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper to the meat mixture while cooking.
