Description

A delightful and easy-to-make Dubai-inspired chocolate strawberry cake featuring layers of fresh strawberries, pistachio kataifi, and melted chocolate over a moist strawberry cake base.

Strawberry Cake Layer

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup avocado oil
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom

Pistachio Kataifi Layer

  • 1/4 cup Pistachio butter
  • 3 tbsp kataifi
  • 1 tbsp butter

Strawberry Layer

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries

Chocolate Layer

  • 1/2 cup chocolate

Instructions

  1. Strawberry Cake Layer For this layer, start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius).
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients Then, using a spoon or whisk, mix together the dry ingredients such as the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom, and sugar.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients Then, add in the wet ingredients, such as the eggs and oil, and mix well.
  4. Add Strawberries Rinse and chop up the strawberries and add them into the batter and stir well.
  5. Prepare Baking Pan Line a 9-inch x 9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, and spray it with oil or cooking spray.
  6. Bake Cake Then, pour the cake batter into the parchment-lined baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  7. Cool Cake Remove from the oven and let cool.
  8. Pistachio Kataifi Layer Add kataif and butter to a medium pan and set it over a stovetop set to medium heat. Toast the kataifi until it is golden brown.
  9. Add Pistachio Butter Then, add homemade pistachio butter into the crispy kataifi pastry and mix well.
  10. Top Cake Then, I add this to the top of the cooled strawberry cake using a butter knife.
  11. Strawberry Layer Rinse and chop the rest of the fresh strawberries and add these on top of the pistachio kataifi layer.
  12. Chocolate Layer For this layer, chop up the bar of milk chocolate and add it to a microwave-safe dish. Microwave it for 30 seconds. If the chocolate hasn’t melted, microwave it for 20 to 30 seconds more. Stir the chocolate and drizzle the melted chocolate over the strawberries.
