Units Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreos, crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 packages (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (12 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 bag of candy-coated chocolate eggs
  • Optional: gummy worms, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreos: Crush the entire package of Oreos and mix them with the softened unsalted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of your casserole dish to form the base layer.
  2. Make the Cream Cheese Layer: In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Prepare the Pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened.
  4. Combine Pudding and Whipped Topping: Fold the whipped topping into the prepared pudding until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Layer the Dirt Cake: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo base layer. Then carefully spread the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer. Top with the remaining crushed Oreos to cover the pudding layer completely.
  6. Decorate: Scatter the candy-coated chocolate eggs over the top, and add gummy worms if using, for decoration.
  7. Refrigerate and Serve: Refrigerate the Dirt Cake casserole for at least 2 hours before serving to allow layers to set and flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Optional: Add gummy worms on top for a fun, festive decoration.
  • Be sure to refrigerate the casserole for the full 2 hours to achieve the best texture and flavor.
