- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1 1/4 cups pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead into a dough and let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9-inch deep dish or cake pan with oil.
- Press dough into the pan and up the sides. Layer 1/3 of the mozzarella on the bottom.
- Add cooked sausage evenly, then pour over pizza sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, and pepperoni slices.
- Sprinkle oregano over top and bake for 25–30 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley.
