Description

These golden, crunchy broccoli cheese bites are the perfect blend of nutritious and indulgent—melty cheese centers wrapped in seasoned broccoli and breadcrumbs, ideal for snacking, party platters, or dipping into your favorite sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped steamed broccoli
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil spray or neutral oil for frying/baking
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine chopped broccoli, cheddar, mozzarella, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well until the mixture holds together. If too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
  3. Scoop out 1-tablespoon portions and roll into balls. Roll each in extra breadcrumbs to coat.
  4. For frying: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry balls until golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  5. For baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place balls on a parchment-lined baking tray, spray with oil, and bake for 18–20 minutes, turning halfway.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with ranch, aioli, or a creamy dipping sauce.

  • Ensure broccoli is well-drained after steaming to prevent excess moisture.
