Description

These Cheesy-Spiced Potato Wedges are a crispy, flavorful, and oven-baked snack or side dish made with a bold spice mix and a touch of cheesy flavor from nutritional yeast. They’re easy to make, naturally vegan, and perfect for dipping or serving alongside your favorite mains.


Ingredients

  • 6 large potatoes, cut into wedges

  • 2-3 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable oil)

  • 2 tsp spice mix (adjust to taste)

For the Homemade Spice Mix:

  • Salt

  • Cumin

  • Black pepper

  • Paprika

  • Garlic powder

  • Chili powder

  • 1 tsp red pepper powder

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast (for cheesy flavor)


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Set your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Prep Potatoes:
    Wash and cut potatoes into wedges.

  3. Season:
    In a large bowl, combine the oil and spice mix. Add potato wedges and toss to coat evenly.

  4. Bake:
    Spread wedges in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake for 35 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 15-minute mark, until golden and crispy.

  5. Serve:
    Enjoy hot, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce like garlic aioli, ketchup, or vegan ranch.


Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the wedges in cold water for 20 minutes before baking, then pat dry.

  • You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper or chili powder.

  • Nutritional yeast adds a delicious umami “cheesy” kick while keeping it dairy-free.
