Description

Tender whole mushrooms smothered in a rich, garlicky Parmesan cream sauce with herbs and a hint of spice. A luxurious side dish ideal for pairing with meats, pasta, or crusty bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb whole cremini or button mushrooms, cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the whole mushrooms and sauté for 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and chili flakes (if using), cooking for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low, then add heavy cream and cream cheese.
  5. Stir until cream cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce becomes thick and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

  • Use full-fat cream and cheeses for the creamiest texture.
  • For a deeper flavor, sauté mushrooms without stirring too often to let them caramelize.
  • Goes great with grilled steak, chicken, or toasted baguette slices.
