Description

Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Push meat to one side of the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Slowly whisk in milk and cream. Stir to combine with beef.
  6. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly, then stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Add cooked penne to the skillet and toss until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
