For the Bruschetta Base
- 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (or substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option)
- 1 loaf Baguette (can use whole grain or gluten-free baguette)
Toppings
- 3 oz Dark Chocolate Bar (or your favorite type of chocolate)
- 1 cup Fresh Strawberries (sliced thinly)
- 1 Tbsp Chopped Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
Instructions
- Prepare the Baguette: Spread a thin layer of unsalted butter or coconut oil on both sides of each baguette slice to ensure even toasting and a nice flavor.
- Toast the Bread: Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Place the buttered baguette slices in the skillet and toast them for about 4-5 minutes, flipping occasionally until both sides are golden brown and crisp.
- Melt the Chocolate: Remove the skillet from heat and quickly place pieces of dark chocolate on each toasted baguette slice. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for about 5 minutes off the heat so the chocolate melts gently from the residual warmth.
- Slice the Strawberries: While the chocolate is melting, wash and thinly slice the fresh strawberries for topping.
- Assemble the Bruschetta: Arrange the toasted baguette slices on a serving plate. Top each slice generously with the sliced strawberries.
- Add the Nuts and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the strawberry-topped bruschetta for crunch and extra flavor. Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast of warm melted chocolate and fresh fruit.
Notes
- You can substitute coconut oil for butter to make this recipe dairy-free.
- Use whole grain or gluten-free baguette if preferred for dietary needs.
- Feel free to swap strawberries for other fresh fruits such as raspberries or blueberries.
- Choose your favorite chocolate type depending on sweetness preference—dark, milk, or semi-sweet.
- Chopped nuts add texture and flavor but can be omitted or replaced with seeds for nut allergies.
