Description

This Chocolate Oreo Protein Ice Cream recipe combines creamy chocolate milk, protein powder, and Oreo pudding mix to create a delicious, indulgent yet protein-packed dessert. Made using the Ninja Creami, it’s easy to prepare and perfect for satisfying sweet cravings while adding a protein boost. Customize with your favorite mix-ins like Oreo Thins and mini chocolate chips for a fun twist.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate milk (such as Fairlife or your favorite brand)
  • 2 Tbsp. chocolate protein powder (Clean Simple Eats recommended)
  • 12 Tbsp. Oreo pudding mix or chocolate pudding mix (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of salt

Mix-ins

  • Oreo Thins
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Additional crushed Oreos for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the base ingredients: Add the chocolate milk, protein powder, pudding mix, and a pinch of salt into an empty Ninja Creami Pint container.
  2. Whisk the mixture: Use a whisk or a milk frother to thoroughly combine all the ingredients until smooth and well incorporated.
  3. Freeze: Place the pint on a level surface in the freezer without the lid on, and freeze for 24 hours. Leaving the lid off prevents the formation of a hump that could damage the blade during processing.
  4. Assemble your Ninja Creami: Once frozen solid, remove the pint from the freezer and insert it into the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Lock the lid on the bowl, place it on the motor base, twist the handle to raise the platform, and lock it in place.
  5. Process the ice cream: Select the ‘Lite Ice Cream’ program and let the machine spin. This will transform your frozen mixture into creamy ice cream without the need for additional spins.
  6. Add mix-ins: Create a 1 ½ inch wide hole in the center of the ice cream with a spoon, then add Oreo Thins or any desired mix-ins. Run the mix-in program once to evenly distribute them.
  7. Enjoy: Remove the pint from the machine and serve immediately. For added texture and flavor, sprinkle with additional crushed Oreos on top.

Notes

  • Freezing the pint without the lid is crucial to protect the Ninja Creami blade during processing.
  • Adjust the amount of pudding mix to control the sweetness according to your preference.
  • You can substitute chocolate protein powder with your preferred flavor, but chocolate enhances the overall taste.
  • For best results, consume the ice cream immediately after processing as it may harden if refrozen.
  • Use any favorite mix-ins for customization beyond Oreo Thins and mini chocolate chips.
