Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large apples, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter (for sautéing apples)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Chopped nuts (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, milk, water, melted butter, sugar, and salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter. Pour about 1/4 cup batter into the skillet, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Cook until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden, about 1-2 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter.
- In another skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8 minutes.
- Place cooked crepes on plates, spoon sautéed apples over half of each crepe, then fold.
- Drizzle generously with caramel sauce and sprinkle chopped nuts if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- Letting the crepe batter rest helps achieve a more tender texture.
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for better flavor contrast.
- Chopped nuts add a nice crunch but are optional.
- Caramel sauce can be homemade or store-bought for convenience.
