Description

Thin, delicate crepes folded over tender, spiced apple slices and drizzled generously with rich caramel sauce. This dessert is a perfect balance of buttery crepes, warm cinnamon apples, and sweet, luscious caramel—ideal for a cozy brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for sautéing apples)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Chopped nuts (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, eggs, milk, water, melted butter, sugar, and salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter. Pour about 1/4 cup batter into the skillet, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Cook until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden, about 1-2 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter.
  3. In another skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8 minutes.
  4. Place cooked crepes on plates, spoon sautéed apples over half of each crepe, then fold.
  5. Drizzle generously with caramel sauce and sprinkle chopped nuts if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Letting the crepe batter rest helps achieve a more tender texture.
  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for better flavor contrast.
  • Chopped nuts add a nice crunch but are optional.
  • Caramel sauce can be homemade or store-bought for convenience.
