Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts
Seasonings & Flavorings
- ½ cup butter, cut into pieces
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the chicken.
- Prepare Chicken: Place the 4 chicken breasts evenly in a 13×9 inch baking dish. Pour the ¼ cup of lemon juice over the chicken breasts, coating them evenly to infuse brightness and flavor.
- Season Chicken: In a small bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon lemon pepper, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, along with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle this seasoning blend evenly over each chicken breast for a balanced and savory flavor.
- Add Butter: Place one tablespoon of butter on top of each chicken breast and distribute the remaining 2 tablespoons in pieces around the chicken in the baking dish. This will keep the chicken moist and add a rich buttery flavor.
- Add Lemon Slices: Slice one lemon and arrange the lemon slices on and around the chicken breasts to enhance the citrus aroma and taste during baking.
- Bake the Chicken: Bake the chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) as checked with a meat thermometer.
Notes
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid under or overcooking the chicken.
- Butter can be substituted with olive oil for a lighter version.
- If you prefer a stronger garlic flavor, you can add minced fresh garlic on top before baking.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
